Our Cosmetic Standards
At Perfectly Joined Furniture, every piece is handcrafted from carefully selected solid hardwoods and professionally finished by hand. Because wood is a natural material, variations in grain, color, texture, and character are not defects—they are part of what makes each piece unique.
By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept these natural variations and our cosmetic standards.
Wood & Finish Variations
No two boards accept stain exactly the same. While we use the stain color selected for your order, slight differences from photos, previous projects, or existing furniture should be expected. Exact stain matches cannot be guaranteed.
The final appearance of a finish is also influenced by sanding and distressing. Smooth, finely sanded surfaces generally appear lighter, while distressed or less finely sanded surfaces often accept stain more deeply and appear darker.
Characteristics of Real Solid Wood
Handcrafted solid wood furniture may naturally include:
Grain variation
Open knots and mineral streaks
Small checks, splits, or filled knots
Joint lines
Minor hand-applied finish texture or brush marks
And other imperfections
These characteristics enhance the beauty and authenticity of solid wood furniture and are not considered defects. Due to the custom nature of our work, dimensions may vary by up to 1 inch.
Lead Times
Lead times are estimates based on our current production schedule and cannot be guaranteed. While many orders are completed ahead of schedule, unforeseen delays can occur. We will always prioritize craftsmanship and quality over rushing a piece to meet a specific date.
Thank you for choosing Perfectly Joined Furniture. We hope you'll appreciate the character, craftsmanship, and one-of-a-kind beauty that make handmade furniture special.
